Setúbal
 
Setúbal is a Portuguese city located on the right bank of Sado River, in front of Tróia, approximately 48 km to the south-east of the Portuguese capital – Lisboa where we can find the airport.
Setúbal is part of the tourism region of Costa Azul as other places as can be seen in the picture below (click here for further information).
 
 
   
       
Setúbal is since 1926 capital of district and is one of the most interesting cities of Portugal, giving its visitors great fun activities, places and monuments and flaring landscapes, conjugated with an important industrial implantation.

 
         
This city also has an harbor where people can visit Tróia using the ferryboats, and enjoy the beaches, the golf courses and ancient ruins.

 

 
Between the city of Setúbal and Sesimbra there is the Arrábida Natural Park that covers an area of 10.800 hectares. It as been declared Natural Park in 1976, to protect the vegetation and the many species. The 35 km of mountains offers a landscape to all lovers of nature, which is impossible to resist.

In alternative to the stroll of the Arrábida Natural Park we have the Fortress of S. Filipe that currently functions as an inn and where we can have one general sight of the city of Setúbal, of Tróia and part of the Mountain range of the Arrábida. Setúbal is also a region of fresh fish and much shellfish, the nobility of the raw material justifies that certain species still are usually associated to these lands.
The best time for visit this city is from July to September, when the weather is splendid inviting people to enjoy the sun in one of the many beaches across the coast.
